Adding YouTube Videos to Your Signage

Display YouTube videos on your digital signage screens — from product demos and tutorials to ambient content and live streams.

1

Find the YouTube app

In the App Store, locate the YouTube app. It allows you to display any public YouTube video on your signage screens.

2

Create a YouTube app instance

Click "Create" on the YouTube app. You'll be asked to enter a YouTube video URL. Paste the full URL of the video you want to display (e.g., https://youtube.com/watch?v=...).

The YouTube app supports regular videos, live streams, and playlist URLs. Only public and unlisted videos are supported — private videos won't work.

3

Configure playback settings

Choose whether the video should autoplay, loop, or start muted. For signage, autoplay with loop and mute enabled is the most common configuration.

Enable looping for ambient content like nature scenes or background music videos that should play continuously.

4

Add to a playlist

Add your configured YouTube app to a playlist. Set the display duration — when the duration expires, the playlist advances to the next item. For full-length videos, set the duration to match the video length.

5

Test on your screen

Assign the playlist to a screen and verify the video plays correctly. Check audio settings on the physical display if sound is needed.

YouTube videos require an active internet connection on the player device. If connectivity is unreliable, consider uploading the video as a media file instead.
